Practical Uses of Virtual Reality – A talk in English
16 June @ 14:00 - 16:00
What is virtual reality?
This talk is an introduction to the world of virtual reality (VR). With VR simulation, you can explore and feel the “virtual” world so that you really have the impression that you are there. This allows you to “look around” the artificial world, to move in it and interact with virtual features or items.
Uses of virtual reality are not restricted to games and entertainment. It has numerous applications in the fields of science, medicine, engineering, architecture, tourism and education, to name but a few!
Joerg, the manager of the Basel Virtual Reality Centre, will give an overview of what VR is, and will focus on its uses in medicine and education. We will have a live demonstration of how VR is used in the field of education to encourage optimal learning techniques.
You are very warmly welcome to join us on Saturday 16 June at 14.00. Please also bring your friends and colleagues along for what promises to be a fascinating talk!
